First WOW Meeting of 2014 This Tuesday!

Posted: February-13-14 Posted by: WOW

The first WOW meeting of 2014 is coming up and we have a lot to talk about.  The meeting will be on Tuesday, Feb 11th, at 6pm at the usual location:

El Cordero de Dios church, corner of Wheeler and Crampton
We will have important updates on issues that WOW has been working on since our founding including graffiti and liquor stores.  We will also have a discussion about the Wells Avenue Neighborhood Plan, and a brainstorming session about a neighborhood project for Spring.  As usual, our WOW meetings are also an opportunity to talk to your neighbors about anything that is going on on our individual blocks, as well as to share any concerns or ideas.

~ The Leprechaun Race 5K will be held in our neighborhood again this year!  Last year this event got 1,400 people from around the City walking and running through our neighborhood.  This event is a great way to get people who usually may not come to our part of the City to see the exciting changes that have happened in West of Wells, get a closer look at the historic homes and buildings in the Wells Avenue Conservation District, and be reminded of the eclectic mix of new and long-time businesses on Wells Avenue.  We are excited about the Race178 organizers again bringing the Leprechaun Race to Wells Ave!  The race will be on the morning of March 16th.  To sign up or find out more, go to:
Both Wells Avenue and Holcomb will be closed during the event:
~ The City of Reno now has an app!  And we can use it to immediately report graffiti, code enforcement violations, and other issues directly to the City.  Through the app you can also watch meetings and see bus routes live, as well as get updates from the City.  Search for "City of Reno" in the app store.
See you at the meeting!
