Susan Mantle Photography Susan Mantle is a professional photographer working and living in the Reno Tahoe area. She became fascinated with photojournalism when living in San Francisco and frequenting North Beach coffee houses. After moving to Nevada City, California and working for newspapers there, she pursed an art degree at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she taught black & white photography and assisted commercial photographers before opening her own business in a historic Victorian bungalow as a portrait artist in 1992.
